Lead Tennis Instructor
Doug played collegiate tennis at Ferris State University, where he earned a degree in the first graduation class of Professional Tennis Management. Doug competed sectionally and nationally as a junior player as well as playing satellite tournaments after college. Doug has worked with over 30 nationally ranked junior players, college players and pros such as Todd Martin, David DeLucia and grand slam champion Nicole Provis. He has worked at the Healthplex® since its inception, serving as Vice President and Director of Tennis from 1996-2001. Doug is also the Tennis Director at the Quogue Field Club in the Hamptons during the summer seasons from 1996- 2011. Doug is a USPTA-1 certified Professional and was honored in 1999, as the USPTA Middle States Pro of the Year. In 2002,he was also selected as the USTA Coach of the Year. Doug has been published in Tennis magazine, Advantage magazine and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Anthony joined the Healthplex Tennis Staff in 2013. He has been a USPTA certified professional since 2010 and also completed USTA Sports Science Level I certification. Anthony finished his undergrad at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC with a B.S. in Business Administration and was involved with their Professional Tennis Management Program. He played on the Men's Tennis Team as a junior transfer student and during his senior year he coached a local high school team and organized MU's club tennis program. Anthony has also completed his Master’s in Public Administration from West Chester University in 2018. Outside of Healthplex, Anthony has been the Varsity Head Tennis Coach at West Chester East High School for both boys and girls teams since 2013. He also serves as Executive Director of USPTA Middle States. In 2015, Anthony was selected by the Daily Local as Coach of the Year for High School Boys Tennis and in 2017, he was selected by USTA Philadelphia as High School Coach of the Year. Anthony was recently named USPTA Middle States U30 Professional of the Year for 2018.
Brittany joined the Healthplex® Tennis Staff in 2014. She is certified by the PTR as a teaching professional. She has been working in the tennis industry for over 10 years and has a wide range of experience in the area. She was a ranked junior player and during her senior year of high school she was awarded player of the year honors. Britt earned a full tennis scholarship and played 1st singles at Georgian Court University. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in sports medicine. Currently Britt works as a sports performance coach, training top athletes in the Philadelphia and surrounding area. She is looking forward to a successful season as the Head Tennis Coach at Villa Maria Academy. Her enthusiastic personality and playing experience are what help Britt excel in teaching others the game of tennis.
Chris joins the Healthplex Tennis staff with 10 years of coaching experience. From 2006-2010, he co-ran one of the most successful independent tennis organization in the area. His organization conducted clinics featuring top 5 sectionally ranked players from each age division. In his young career, he has privately coached top 3 sectionally ranked players, top 50 nationally ranked players, and multiple year-ending Most Improved Award recipients. He coaches the girls and boys tennis teams at The William Penn Charter School, where he also directs the summer tennis program. Chris is an ITPA certified professional who intensely loves the game and seeks more knowledge each day. Chris was a standout junior player, earning a top 5 sectional ranking in each of the age divisions. He also reached the latter rounds in multiple Super National (level 1) tournaments. In school competition, he was a 3- time singles champion in the prestigious Inter-Academic League. He played division 1 tennis at Saint Joseph’s University where he helped lead his team to some of the most successful seasons in school history; twice ranking among the top 16 schools in the Northeast region of the country. He was 2-time MVP and at graduation, he was ranked second on the all- time most wins list.
Dennis is a USPTR-certified Tennis Professional. He has coached at the Healthplex® for seven years. Dennis’ varied strengths as an instructor has helped players of all levels and playing styles. He has coached and trained players who have later become #1 at the regional, collegiate and professional levels. Dennis has excelled as both a team and doubles coach. He coached Kutztown University men’s and women’s teams for seven years and brought them to their first NCAA Tournament “May Madness.” He was a six-time nominee for Division 2 Collegiate Coach of the Year. Dennis has been the Head Tennis professional at Kennett Square CC, Whitford CC and the K Club in Antigua / Barbuda. Dennis enjoyed success playing the Men’s International Professional Tennis circuit from 1984 to 1988. Dennis has devoted much effort to organizing many charity tennis events. He has a MFA from Temple University and has produced 25 Hall of Fame videos for the USTA Middle States, featuring Hall of Famers from Billie Jean King to Ted Tinling.

Frank is a USPTR-certified Tennis Professional, teaching at the Healthplex® for 15 years. Frank has enjoyed teaching all ages and levels of students, including handicapped children and adults. His interest in teaching has always been to help ALL players understand the challenges of the game, improve their overall playing skills and develop needed confidence to play at their very best. Frank graduated from Temple University, where he developed proper playing skills and the desire to teach tennis. While there, he worked as the Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach. Frank didn’t limit his athletic career to tennis only. While at Temple, he twice lettered in men’s crew. Frank also excelled in high school football.

James Chau has been playing and competing as a tennis player all his life. James won a state championship at Community College of Philadelphia in 2011. He was also part of a USTA team that went to Nationals. In addition to teaching here at the Healthplex, James is an assistant coach for Jarrod Grant Tennis School and assists in running tennis programs at Wallingford and Strath Haven summer camps. His unique coaching methods emphasize proper technique while building overall fitness, footwork, and mental toughness.
Jeff has been coaching at the Healthplex® for seven years. He is a USPTA P-1 certified Professional. Jeff played collegiate tennis at the University of Denver, achieving a #8 ranking in the Midwest Region for NCAA Division II. He enjoys teaching doubles strategies to all ages and levels, particularly high school, collegiate and league teams. He is the Director and Head Tennis Pro at Long Beach Island, NJ Art Foundation & Tennis Club during the summer months.
